CHECC functions as an umbrella organization overseeing functions in
which CHECC members volunteer and lead.
Purpose: To provide support to parents who educate their children at
home in Caldwell County.
Goals: To provide avenues for Homeschooling families to enhance not only
their children’s education but also educate the parents in ways to be better
home educators.
Fees: $20. donation preferred but not required
Application: Membership requires each family to volunteer/lead in
one position/activity for the school year beginning in August and a signed
Statement of Fatih.
Benefits: Support services include: field trips; parties and family
and teen events; an e-mail quarterly newsletter; informational E-mail loop; an
optional Co-op; and academic, spiritual, and emotional encouragement.
The group also works to further the appreciation of homeschooling in the
community through education and media communication as well as participating in
community services. CHECC also has Homeschool Information Packets available at
the Lockhart Library.
Meetings: A monthly Mom’s Coffee meeting is regularly scheduled
for support and information on: curricula and assistance in choosing an
appropriate one; information on available workshops; as well as information on
political and legal concerns.
