Frugal Ideas

Some of you that have been homeschooling for a while may laugh about my great "new discovery," but we had a great time today playing Make Ten.  I made up 4 sets of cards numbered 0-10 and shuffled them. As I drew each card, my daughter would say how much more was needed to make 10.  If she got it right, she got to keep the card. She liked this a lot better than pencil work and went through all 44 cards very quickly.  She would have moaned and groaned about doing that on paper, but wanted to play it again as a card game.

I think we'll be doing a lot more math this way. I can just see it ... Make Nine, Plus 2, Plus 9, the possibilities are endless!
