The Principle Approach is a philosophy of education and of life!
It is not NEW — it comes from the Word of God. It is the philosophy
of education (and, therefore, the philosophy of life) of the
founders of this country. America abandoned these principles and the
results have been disastrous for individuals and the country. The
Principle Approach is a return to those Biblical principles; it
teaches individuals to reason from Godly principles in every area of
life.
The Principle Approach seminar presents seven Biblical principles
identified in American history and how to apply them in academics
and in daily life. For example:
* how to find a Bible lesson in geography or in mathematics
* God's providence throughout history for mankind and the U.S.
* why God would have us study grammar
* how language reveals a nation's view of god
* how America can be called a Christian nation
* why we should be patriotic
* how man's view of God determines his type of government
* how studying history builds a positive self-image
The methodology is a return to internal effort in learning rather
than external "programming" of the student. This is accomplished by
using the 4 R's to develop individual notebooks.
1. RESEARCHING: reading, listening, observing
2. REASONING: finding significance according to God's Word
3. RELATING: to present generation
4. RECORDING: restating with student's words
True Christian education uses the academic subjects as a tool to
develop the character of the
child. He thinks he is learning his time tables, but the Father sees
him developing diligence,
accuracy, and faith in a consistent Creator. Each assignment must
have internal and eternal
value, or it is merely busy work. The Father instructs His children
to get knowledge, but He is
more concerned that they get understanding and wisdom. That is why
Philippians 1:10 tell us,
"Learn to sense...and prize what is excellent and of real value."
