We were at the 20th Anniversary
Concert for KSBJ here in Houston. We were in the Astrodome
(whatever name is on the front right now, it's still the AstroDome
to me). There were about 35,000 Christians there, with over 20
artists singing, from Plus One to Newsboys, from Jackie Valsquez to
Amy Grant, from Ed Meese to Steven Curtis Chapman. But since this
was a Christian Concert, the audience participated in the Praise and
Worship.
These were Christians from all over Texas and Louisiana. Christians
from every church you could think of. Yet we knew the same words
because of our local Christian Radio Station---KSBJ. All 35,000 of
us. Yet we are only 1 percent of the 325,000 people who listen to
KSBJ each day. And each day, we individually sing in our cars, homes
and offices, just like we sang tonight. We sang the same songs,
praising the same Lord, in unity of the Faith in our Lord.
And I thought, wow, is this what it will be like in the Throne Room?
With people as far as we can see, all singing together, the same
song, the same waving of hands, to the Lord of Lords and King of
Kings? Of course the second thought I had was: will I make it to the
Throne Room? You know, salvation will get us into Heaven, but will
you be just inside the border, or IN the Throne Room? How can you
make sure those around you make it into the Throne Room?
We can't decide for others, but we can decide to spend more time
with Jesus, in prayer, in the Word, in praise. We can't make our
kids/friends/neighbors love Jesus, but we can show our
kids/friends/neighbors the Love of Jesus. We can't make them love
the Word, but we can tell them the Words of Love from Jesus. We
can't make them spend more time with Jesus, but we can spend more
time showing them Jesus. And we can pray for our whole household,
circle of friends, and neighborhood to be in the Throne room, like
tonight, praising the Lord together.
We can be singing together again in the Throne Room.
